Is it pathetic that I'm so hungry my stomach is eating itself, yet I'm far too lazy to simply reach over and grab a snack? Or that I feel like I can't do anything after class on Mondays and Wednesdays until Clare comes back from class?

Can I just say that I hate video games?
Also, my roommate has instilled in me a strong passion against societal gender roles. We are currently in training for PLU's S.A.P.E.T (sexual assault prevention and education team). It started this last Friday and we had another meeting today. Friday focused on domestic violence and its parameters. Today we talked about men's roles in violence against women. Just this year, the Women's Center has created a "Men Against Violence" group and only 6 men "regularly" attend. Maybe it's just because I've been living with an avid feminist for about 5 months, but I felt victimized by men today. And it bothers me that my male friends will say, "I don't approve of violence" yet they won't act against it.
I am becoming passionate about many things at once right now. Nursing has always been a passion, but that is definitely growing. I meet my Little this week and I am excited to hopefully make a positive influence on a child's life. I've joined S.A.P.E.T and I'm looking forward to being able to educate and help peers and future patients about domestic violence and sexual assault. I'm putting together a team for the March of Dimes and I've joined a Relay for Life team (which both happen to be occuring on the same day... conundrum).
I don't miss having a boyfriend. I'm too busy to worry about that. I figure I might not seriously date anyone again until after I've graduated. Gotta stay focused, right? And I'm not alone by any means. I'm happy.
But regardless of how much direction I have in my life, or how happy I am with who I have become and what I'm doing, etc. ... that nagging sense of lacking seems to creep in every once in a while. It's usually easily subdued. But there are things I miss. I miss writing. I miss reading. I miss socializing. I don't really miss partying, but I kind of miss having the option. I miss not having to grow up.
Can I also say that I despise alcohol? I'd like to say I'm sorry to those of you that drink, and that I don't disrespect you... but I can't. Of course, I still love you. I just can't help but feel nothing but bitter disdain for the use of alcohol in any situation. It is disgusting and all too often used as a pitiful excuse for distasteful behavior. I admit not everyone uses it this way, but that doesn't negate the fact that people do use it this way. And for that reason, I cannot accept it.
My loathing for video games had nothing to do with any of that. I just hate them.
I have three quizzes and one exam this week. It's time for bed.
